Deputy Principals Message

Dear parents, guardians and friends of Sirius College,

As we bid farewell to another successful term, we welcome along the much anticipated spring! It certainly has been a cold winter, but we will rejoice in the sunshine over term 4. Please remember that Term 4 means: NO HAT NO PLAY! Over the holidays, please ensure you locate/buy your child a school hat.

AUTHOR VISIT: MEM FOX

It certainly has been a privilege to see all the amazing events and efforts put in by our staff and students over this term, it was definitely a hectic, yet very rewarding term. This week we have also had the pleasure to welcome renowned Australian children’s author Mem Fox, who has visited us from Adelaide. Mem Fox had lunch with staff, visited classrooms and also had interactive reading sessions with our students. We were over the moon with her lovely visit!

ICAS

Well done to all the student who participated in the 2017 ICAS Competitions. The International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) is an optional & independent, skills-based assessment program which recognises and rewards student achievement. Students have been presented with their awards. Congratulations to everybody on your efforts!

INTERIM REPORTS

I am truly proud to see our students putting in tremendous effort in the last weeks of school and during their assessments. Parents and Guardians, thank you for your continued support in your child’s education at Sirius College. The teachers have been busy with reports the past few weeks. Term 3 Interim Reports will be mailed out to families. Parent teacher interviews (PTI’s) will be conducted in Term 4, week 2. You will receive PTI booking information in Term 4, week 1.

LOST PROPERTY

Please label all of your child’s belongings. We have a number of items in lost property that has no name. Children are responsible to look after their belongings and sometimes need reminders. All items in lost property will be donated elsewhere if not collected by families. Thank you for your support.

I wish for a revitalising and refreshing spring break for everyone! We look forward to seeing you all back in busy Term 4
